Michael Slaughter, FNP

Nurse Practitioner

Born in Tyler, Michael joined NTVC in June 2017, having worked the prior seven years as a Nurse Practitioner in Vascular Surgery. He brings a wealth of experience to the practice. As an extension of Dr. Bukhari, Michael is trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose illness and disease, prescribe medication and formulate treatment plans. His addition has dramatically improved our ability to schedule your visits in a timely manner, as well as to drastically reduced your wait times once you come in to see us.

In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and their many cats, as well as fishing, playing softball, and anything and everything Texas Rangers!

What is your favorite aspect of working in healthcare? I love seeing the positive changes that we can help our patients achieve. Knowing that I play a part in their healing process — a part in healing their wounds, decreasing their pain, or saving a limb — it gives me such satisfaction knowing I’m making a difference.

What is your favorite part about working at NTVC? Working at NTVC makes me feel like what I do every single day matters. We change lives here, and there’s no better feeling in the world than when a patient tells me how much better they feel because of the things we do.
